As part of development for my Graphic Design assignment, I had to create stencils and use them. It was quite a challenge as I am not used to using a scalpel and cutting paper. It was also quite difficult figuring out which parts were to be cut or kept.
The results came out better than I had anticipated, so I am really pleased. I also used the new Windsor and Newton inks I purchased on the weekend.

Yesterday I bought some Windsor & Newton inks for the first time. I’ve never used ink before, so it was quite exciting opening them up and dipping my brush into the cute glass pots for the first time.
I’ve only bought four to begin with (Violet, Apple Green, Blue and Scarlet), and I hope to add more colours.
Tomorrow, I’ll be using them on some stencils I’ve cut, so I hope they’ll be up for the job!
In the mean time, here is a page of doodling I’ve been doing for the past hour of this Sunday afternoon.

Car Wash Poster

This the poster I created yesterday for a car wash my Film Production class are holding in order to raise funds. We will print them as flyers (and be those annoying people) to put on cars, and also as posters to put around the campus. I chose greyscale as we will be printing these in large numbers, and being a student and all, it is a wiser choice considering printing costs.

The hands and the ‘Prime Quality Seal’ badge are from They are brilliant when in need of inspiration!

Bake Sale Poster

PrintThis is a poster for a bake sale that my film class will be holding. We have to raise as much funds to support the production of our short film. It will be going into pre-production very soon, as filming is set to take place mid February. I will keep you updated on how our progress goes!

We will also be holding a car wash, and I am hoping to create and sell christmas cards etc to also help raise money, so no doubt there will be posters for those being made very soon.

It’s been so hectic since September, what with second year getting underway and starting a new job, but whilst I’m here, I thought I’d post about my travels around California. Out of the cities I’ve visited in America, LA has got to be the most colourful, wackiest, and weirdest one yet! We travelled up the Pacific Coast Highway visiting San Diego, and San Fransisco, Lake Tahoe, had three days in Las Vegas, and saw the Grand Canyon. So this post is for the best photos taken. New York City Ballet

NewYorkCity BalletNewYorkCityBallet2

This week in Graphic design we learnt about the popularity of the red, black and white colour combination in Graphic Design, and why it is so effective. Our task was to create posters for the New York City Ballet using these colours, photographs only, and no illustration.
